LANDMARKS Muntanyeta dels Sants, a hill with two chapels on top, dedicated to Saint Abdón and Senén (17th century); the church Real Iglesia de la Mare de Déu de Sales (17th century and old monastery); church of Sant Pere (neoclassical, 18th century); the El Asilo de los Ancianos Desamparados (19th century), the Ateneo (19th century); the Town hall (18th century) and Los Porches arches dating from the 18th century). Also to mention are the beautiful area near the Júcar river; the Friday market, open all year round in Sequial street and with an ancient tradition; and the Natural Park of Albufera. Sueca has also an 8 km. beach going from Perelló until Mareny de Vilxes, going through Palmeres, el Mareny de Barraquetes and El Mareny Blau. It is possible to fish. The Nautic Club El Perelló is also worth visiting.
GASTRONOMY The paella and all possible combinations with rice, which is a traditional ingredient of the area.
FEASTS In September there are two international events: The Mostra Internacional de Mim (International Mimic festival), and the international paella contest, in the frame of the local feasts during the first week of September in honour to Saint Peter Apostle and the Virgin of Sales. Two weeks of parties, concerts, fireworks, bullfighting with small bulls, and a wide range of cultural and free time activities as well as religious events, like the procession of the Virgin Mary, during which you can enjoy traditional dances.
